The Lions Qualify For Women's Fleet Race Nationals For The First Time In 14 Years

The Columbia Lions qualified for Women's Fleet Race Nationals for the first time in 14 years! This is a major accomplishment for the team in the past 4 years as we've worked hard to build our team back after Covid. Nationals was held by Florida State University this year in St. Petersburg, Florida from May 15th to 18th. 

The team competed in the Eastern Division for two days in varying, shifty conditions. The fleet proved to be tough competition and the lions struggled to stay consistent. Overall the lions placed 15th -- 18th in A fleet and 8th in B fleet! Eva DeCastro ('28), and Raina Jaeggli ('28) also finished the regatta with two bullets! The best streak Columbia Sailing has seen at nationals in recorded history.
